Sister Mary Margaret (also known as Sr M&M) is a member of the QuiNhon Missionary Sisters of the Holy Cross. She was born in Vietnam into a family of eleven children with an ethnic and cultural background of Chinese and Buddhist. She and her family migrated to and reunited in the United States in 1983. She grew up in San Francisco where she graduated from San Francisco State University as an Electrical Engineer.
She converted to Catholicism in 1996. While working at NEC Electronics in Silicon Valley she decided to enter the Congregation of the QuiNhon Missionary Sisters of the Holy Cross in July of 1999.
On June 15, 2002 she made her First Profession of Vows and received her first assignment at St. Felicitas Parish as a Pastoral Care Minister. In May 2005, she graduated at the Graduate Theological Union at the Franciscan School in Berkeley with the MA degree in Ministry in a Multicultural Church.
In summer of 2006, she was sent to Santa Maria Church to serve as the Coordinator for K-5 Faith Formation Program. On July 31, 2007, she made her Final Profession of Vows here at Santa Maria Church.
In summer of 2012, she was sent to Most Trinity Parish in San Jose to serve as Catechetical Director for children Grades 1-8 and RCIA.
On August of 2018, she has returned to the Aspirant Formation House at Santa Maria Church and currently serves as Catechetical Director for Children’s Faith Formation K-5 at our Parish.
She enjoys singing, and playing ping-pong & badminton, but her passion is to bring Christ’s love to all whom she encounters.
