By profession, Rey is a Civil Engineer, and by vocation a husband and permanent Deacon. Inspired by a former Pastor's homily on a call to stewardship and discipleship, Rey pursued a vocation of service with the encouragement and support from his wife Rose and their daughters Rita, Ruth, and Rachel.
His love of music led him to join the choir, and his ministries eventually expanded to include service on the School Board and other parish committees. This further led to his attending the School for Pastoral Ministry and entering the Deacon Formation Program, culminating in ordination as a Permanet Deacon for the Diocese of Oakland on November 1, 2008.
In addition to serving his parish communities, Rey is an active participant in forming and serving the Deacon community and the Filipino Cursillo Community.
